What is it?

Unakite is a unique metamorphic granite stone created from hydrothermal activity. It comprised of green Epidote, pink Orthoclase, Feldspar, and clear Quartz. This true stone can also contain trace amounts of magnetite or zircon.

Where does it come from?

Unakite was first discovered in the United states along the Unakas Mountain Range in NC. It is also found along the beaches of Lake Superior where it was originally gouged from massive glaciers millions of years ago. There are only a few places in the world where this mineral can be found making it a semi-precious gemstone.

Discovery Story

Our Unakite is ethically sourced from the beaches of Lake Superior. We find it from Grand Marais all along the coast to the Bay Mills Indian Community. Whitefish Bay has particularly been kind to us when searching for this beautiful gemstone!
